Almost 50% of their fat is monounsaturated and 30% polyunsaturated, the latter being mostly Omega 6. This is why they are highly recommended for anyone following a vegetarian or vegan diet, for sportspeople and for growing children. It is a legume with high concentration of albumin and fat, almost as much as meat. Peanuts are highly nutritious and eating them provides lasting energy throughout the day. If you could just stop shedding fur everywhere, that would be terrific. Our peanut butter has a smooth and creamy texture, since the peanuts have been ground with traditional top-quality methods using roasted peanuts only. As a pure bred golden retriever, you’re riddled with flaws with your double joints, your long legs, and your abnormally large size.īut to me, you’re perfect – and I wouldn’t have you any other way! – Nagi x Happy 8th birthday Dozer!! I’ve loved you since the moment I laid eyes on you, that fateful day when I went out “just window shopping” for a puppy. So this year, I packed up the pupcakes and distributed them among his friends – here are a few pics of Dozer’s buddies enjoying them!! Also because after experiencing the carnage at last years’ party (which ended with me having to dive in to grab the cake and run away with it), I knew that the frenzy of excitement created by taking treats down to the beach with 20+ golden retrievers would cause chaos that would likely lead to inadvertent breaches of social distancing requirements!! □ Given that children aren’t allowed to have birthday parties in this new world order, it didn’t seem very fair that Dozer should have one. The trick here is to cook the potatoes until very, very soft – literally fall apart – so when you “whip” it up with yogurt, water and honey, it will become smooth with a fluffy buttercream frosting consistency!Īfter last years’ hilarious incident when my friends’ husband ate Dozer’s Birthday Cake because it looked so REAL (while my friend watched silently, just for the amusement of seeing his reaction □), I decided I better play it safe this year and top it with dog biscuits!!!īut actually, dog biscuit aside, these cupcakes are perfectly safe for humans to consume. What goes in dog friendly “frosting” for Pupcakes So I use potato instead. Made creamy with yogurt plus water, and a touch of honey to sweeten it = perfect piping consistency, looks totally authentic and far better for dogs than cream cheese so you can use plenty. Bad for dogs.Īt most, you’d limit it to a smear on each cupcake – which pooches wouldn’t complain about, but lacks the wow factor visually. You’ll see plenty of dog cakes and cupcake recipes online with sky-high swirls of frosting made with loads of high fat ingredients like cream cheese and peanut butter. The secret ingredient in the creamy, fluffy frosting you see on these cupcakes is potato. A proven hit used in last years’ birthday cake for Dozer’s birthday! (wait until you see Dozer “helping” in the recipe video!!) Except you might have extra unwanted “help” in the kitchen if you let your pooch get involved…. The making part is no different to making your favourite blueberry muffins – ie super duper easy. It won’t upset your dogs’ stomache and you won’t have a mess to clean up on your lawn tomorrow (sorry to gross you out □).ĭozer ate 5 of these yesterday, and 4 the day before (many photo and video retakes!) and it didn’t affect his digestion at all. Here’s what goes in these cupcakes – these are all dog friendly ingredients. The thought of potato frosting mightn’t appeal to US. Peanut butter banana smell that dogs go crazy overĪs for the frosting? The secret ingredient is potato made creamy with yogurt and sweetened with honey! Far better for dogs than using copious amounts of butter, cream cheese and icing sugar used in normal fluffy frostings. Moist, not dry – no pooch will ever choke from dry cake in MY house! Pupcakes – dog cupcakes with fluffy frosting!ĭogs eat anything, but in my world, that’s no reason to lower the bar! So these cupcakes are everything you want in YOUR cupcakes – except they’re sugar free and made with dog friendly ingredients □: Pupcakes piled high with dog friendly frosting to celebrate Dozer’s 8th birthday! Easy dog cupcakes made with banana and peanut butter – the smell drives them crazy! The crowning glory is fluffy frosting made with no butter, no cream cheese, sugar free.

It reflects the human being as he/she is on this day, without the biased selection and criteria of mainstream media- without the preference of race, physical perfection, ideological or sexual orientation. It reflects the human being in the mosaic of diverse images in contemporary society. The Daily Portrait visual project is precisely this kind of communication. It is a communication of content in a way that is both universal and unfinished. It is a search for a personal theme and a refining of one's form. Artistic creation is a confrontation with oneself. It comes into being from the feeling of not being comprehended, the feeling of being senseless and ignored and, at the same time, from a necessity to tell the viewer about something. A work of art comes into being from internal tension, sometimes even suffering. During 18 months, a digital camera was travelling around the city of Berlin, passing from hand to hand, linking strangers, and creating a mosaic of stories and portraits of contemporary Berlin, showing society as it is without prejudice.Ī work of art does not come into being in order to gain accolades and acknowledgement. That's the idea behind Daily Portrait Berlin. He/she has a camera and is going to photograph you, naked. You are at home in your apartment, making tea and suddenly someone rings the doorbell. Only downside when it’s not installed: where do you put? This box is very fairly big and long at 81-inches small garages may have an issue. Our vehicle here has factory-provided roof rails so the install was quick, with the box easily sitting on the rails and secured by large clamps. And the looks of the SkyBox 16 are deceiving, weighing only 47 pounds it appears to weight 3 times that, so it’s not heavy for a pair of adults to manage. There is zero assembly and no tools required to get this big boy up top either, so installing and removing it is easy with two adults. Getting into the box is easy, so is the latch system with key. The box is designed with internal lid stiffeners for durability and easy open and close, plus it offers dual-sided openings for easy access on either side of the vehicle, which turned out to be handier than we expected. Plus, the tapered design reduces hatch interference while the SuperLatch security ensures the lid is secure to its base. Much of this is courtesy of the box’s 15-inch height, allowing things to be stacked. Not having to strategically jam and Tetris all our gear into the trunk was refreshing - it was nice to have some extra trunk space without needing to leave anything behind. For an overnight camping trip, we managed to reasonably stow a great deal of stuff up there - from sleeping bags to firewood. Photo: Amee ReehalĪside from packing the car’s rear cargo trunk, I wasn’t sure exactly how much extra space I’d get. Limited Lifetime Warranty More space than expected Yakima SkyBox 16 Carbonite. But its been my pleasure to hear that multiple times as their excuse.Dimensions: L 81.00 in x W 36.00 in x H 15.00 in By the way this company bought out my past backup company I had for years that definitely did not have a policy like this one. computers are being hacked every day and a company that cant hold on to your data during replacements etc is not customer friendly and not standing behind what they promise. Things happen unexpectedly and you would like to think the company you trusted your data with would have some archive. I checked with several backup companies and none of them were definitely more reasonable. I talked to a manager and she said that it is industry standard practice. I totally was confident my data would be there. But my real problem with carbonite is this 30 day policy of wiping my backups off the server when you have been a customer for years. I didn' see it as I was caught up getting everything back on line. I had one email that stated my subscription had expired because my Credit card had changed. Unfortunately my computers had to be reimaged due to malware, my credit card was compromised and I was just starting over when I found out Carbonite had deleted my data 5 days before. CONSĬarbonite has a 30 day policy to delete all data and is not recoverable if your subscription laps. Sorry I kept with it but also shocked to see their deletion policy. Software was not as user friendly as the backup company Carbonite bought out. I found nothing positive about this software. I trust experts when it comes to my data and security, so this is not a huge issue for me. So if I were to lose my data I would need to figure out how to do it and/or pay him to help me. CONSĪs I was recommended to Carbonite by my IT guy, he is the one installed the software and also uploaded all of the docs and files when I purchase new hardware. My invoices and accounting are backed up. I have stored in my system at this moment in time 249,577 files - work from over 10 years is compiled here for my marketing clients. At any point in time, I know if my hard drive system were to be compromised, by disaster or stolen or other calamity-I could be back in business with all documents and files uploaded into a new computer hard drive system. I highly recommend Carbonite not only for business but also personal home computers. I am using Carbonite Safe CE 22.2 - I have clients that say they have a backup to Google or other service, and quite frankly they don't understand the complexity they will go through to try to retrieve their data. And at any time, I can open the software and see the files and view my backup on the Cloud. Since it runs in the background and I don't need to do anything with it - my experience is awesome! I love seeing the reports pop on the screen saying my system just backed up XXXXXXX number of files. ParaLLEl-RDP has a special " Super VI Mode" option, which, if used, can make the visuals of N64 games look less blurry with fairly mitigated jaggies even at their native resolutions, although it may need a powerful GPU. Alongside RetroArch's general features, it adds 3-point texture filtering for Glide64, superior A/V sync and latency, and even an initially exclusive LLE Vulkan renderer based on Angrylion's pixel-perfect RDP plugin, now known as ParaLLEl-RDP, making it a better alternative to the standalone version in some cases. As of 2022, Project64-style overclocking for faster frame rates has been added under the option 'CountPerOpDenomPot'. BizHawk and OpenEmu use forks of Mupen64Plus and its plugins for their N64 emulation, but they seem to be shallow. It also only comes bundled with outdated video plugins, so to ensure the best possible compatibility, sourcing better third-party plugins such as GLideN64 is a must. However, Mupen64Plus lacks a native GUI, instead being launched either from the command line or by dragging and dropping ROMs into the executable and editing the config with a text editor. It's about as accurate as Project64 when both emulators are run with GLideN64. Mupen64Plus A multi-platform emulator based on Hacktarux's Mupen64. As of August 2017, both emulators have roughly equal compatibility and accuracy when running with the same recommended N64 plugins setup, though both default to Glide64, a now relatively lackluster plugin. Which was more compatible often depended on when and in what configuration each emulator had been tested. For half a decade, Mupen64Plus and Project64 have vied for the most playable emulator. ↑ Only used in Super Mario 3D All-Stars.Īlthough many Nintendo 64 emulators have been made and many games can be run between them, until recently, complete compatibility/accuracy left a bit to be desired.↑ 8.0 8.1 Only supports texture packs and not filtering or upscaling.Another and recommended option for Goldeneye: 007 is garungorp's MouseInjectorDolphinDuck with mupen64plus_next_libretro. California has the second-highest rent in the U.S., behind only Hawaii. The average California renter pays $1,844 a month in rent, and the state has six of the ten most expensive U.S. That steady rise in home prices was certainly a contributing factor to the decline in sales, as the price-per-square-foot in California reached $436, a record high. In May 2022, California home sales dropped to the lowest levels in nearly two years – dipping below 400,000 sales.Īt the same time, California home values hit an all-time high for the third month in a row. However, if you’re looking for a general estimate, online home value estimators can help. The best way to figure out your home’s price is to get the opinion on a local real estate agent. This means that while California buyers are still paying above list price for homes, they’re paying slightly less than buyers were last month and last year – an indicator that the market is becoming slightly less competitive. However, one possible early sign of a cooling market can be found in the California Association of Realtors’ sale-price-to-list-price ratio, which declined 0.5% year-over-year, and 0.8%, month-to-month, to 103.4%. » Learn More: How Much Are Closing Costs in California (2022 Data) What’s the Average Price of a House in California?Īccording to Zillow, the median home price in California is $800,172 and has risen an impressive 18.5%, year-over-year. Let’s take a look at California’s median home prices, rent prices, homes sold, real estate trends, and finally, what to expect for the 2022 housing market. This reflects the national dynamic - demand is at an all-time high, while inventory is still very low.Īfter a decade-plus of steady home price gains, the market has reached the limits of affordability for many, and would-be buyers fatigued by bidding wars and competing with all-cash offers could very well be a factor in California’s declining population. Quick Stats: California Housing Market TrendsĪccording to the latest home sales data from the California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.), the number of home sales has been dropping across the state, while home prices have increased (often by double digits) in every region of the state. The state is an attractive destination for young families, retirees, and professionals of all ages. Overall, the California market is strong, with high home values supported by a strong job market, and amenities like a favorable climate, world-class beaches and parks, and great schools. Will 2023 be a buyer’s or seller’s market? Should homeowners sell ASAP, or bet on the durability of the California market? Should buyers make competitive offers to buy in now, or bide their time in anticipation of a more affordable market in the near future? Halfway through 2022, home buyers and sellers in California are coming off a red-hot decade that has seen home values more than double, reaching some of the highest levels in the U.S.īut as mortgage rates have shot up at historic speed, many are wondering if home prices will continue to rise, level off, or even decline. The hegemonic model in the United States is monogamous pairing, generally heterosexual, where we provide exclusive bi-parental care to our own biological offspring in a single-family home surrounded by hoards of our own privately owned stuff. It was initially animated by a lot of the isolation and loneliness and general discombobulation that people felt during the pandemic and what we realized about our family structures. How would you sum up that critique? I invited Ghodsee onto The Gray Area to talk about what she learned from all these experiments and how we might apply those lessons today. Beyond that, it’s a critique of our present society and the lack of care and connection that defines so much of it. It’s a sweeping look at various communal experiments over the last two centuries and it makes the case that utopian thinking is both necessary and pragmatic. So why does this seem so much harder to do?Ī new book by Kristen Ghodsee called Everyday Utopia offers some interesting answers. If imagining the worst-case scenario is a useful exercise, then imagining the best-case scenario must also be useful - and for the same reasons. Maybe it’s the climate problem, or the AI apocalypse, or political chaos - the list goes on and on.ĭystopianism has always been an easy game to play, and there’s something useful about imagining how badly things might go if we don’t deal with our issues now. When we think about the future, our minds turn almost effortlessly to bad things. If it folds in half or twists with ease, it's too flexible, says podiatrist and foot and ankle specialist, Elizabeth Daughtry, MD. To test the flexibility, hold the shoe at the toe box and heel counter and try to fold the shoe in half by pushing on its ends to see how sturdy it is. Your shoe should also have limited flexibility-the more it bends, the less stability. Ideally, it will assist with the pattern of your walk rather than the impact. Support and stability: Walking shoes should be ridged more stable than running shoes. Here are a few main points worth considering before opening up your wallet. Several factors go into finding the right walking shoe. See below for the best, most highly-tested podiatrist, editor, and reviewer-recommended walking shoes you can easily walk in all day. Who has the time to break in shoes? Luckily, all of the selections have been tested by thousands of reviewers (including some Women's Health editors) to be comfortable from day one. Flexibility: Per Stavosky, flexibility takes second place in walking shoe priorities. The pairs below max out when it comes to cushioning-say goodbye to those blisters. Cushioning: As Perkins noted, cushioning is the most important feature to look for in a good pair of walking shoes. All of the shoes below fit a wide range of sensibilities. Style: Don't worry-the internet is filled with options, so you'll never have to skimp on style while prioritizing your comfort. Each of the below podiatrist-approved shoes is paired with an honest review from a happy buyer who's tested them extensively. Reviewer recommendations: No one's more transparent than online reviewers, in my opinion.Expert recommendations: WH asked podiatrists which specific shoes and brands they'd recommend to their own patients with a wide array of conditions, from overpronation to ankle injuries, wide feet, and more. How did I chose the best walking shoes for women? So, don't settle for anything less than love at first.fit, and don't wait for uncomfortable shoes to eventually feel better on your sore feet. “One of the things I always tell my patients is that shoes should fit and feel comfortable as soon as you put them on,” says podiatric surgery specialist James Stavosky, DPM. More surprisingly, I found out that you shouldn’t have to “break in” a new pair of shoes (I know-I was shocked to hear it, too). “Cushioning is a vital element in most walking shoes, since this is what helps with shock absorption as the foot impacts the ground,” she says. Perkins advised me to start by looking at cushioning. Our team has also tested hundreds of sneakers for our Sneaker Awards for years. When starting to look for shoes I can comfortably walk in all day (even on concrete), I consulted experts in podiatry. Show more Which walking shoes do I recommend? Those attributes allow for less bounce and more of a natural cadence to your stride, she says. Walking shoes should feel heavier than most pairs of trainers, and have a lower heel than the average running shoe. It's important to specifically look for shoes that are meant for walking, Perkins says. Is it ok to wear running shoes for walking? The right shoes can help you to enjoy every step and even prevent injury or overpronation, says podiatrist Chanel Perkins, DPM. And aside from my mental health water bottle, the one thing I really need is a solid pair of comfortable, supportive walking shoes. If you're anything like me, once you've gotten a couple miles in the books, you might realize that walking a lot can seriously hurt your feet. It seems like our team is going on more walks than ever to improve both our mental and physical health, and it makes sense, since there are tons of benefits to walking. Walking really took off in 2019, and since then, it's become a fitness staple in pretty much everyone's workout regimen-especially for us editors here at Women's Health. You can drag cards the same as with other Solitaire games but why do that? This is Flick Solitaire! If you can’t make a move, tap the deck pile (stock) to draw a card. The major difference is that the deck pile will deal a single card or every third card. If you’re left with a space in one of your 7 columns- you can move a King there - but only a King.Ĭhoose from Deal 1 or Deal 3 - both with different levels. (K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7…).įlick a faceup card from one of the 7 columns onto another faceup card remembering the rules above.įlick Aces to the foundation piles to start building your sequence pile. Your goal is to move all cards to the foundations, creating a sequence among the seven columns.Ĭards can be moved from one column to another - as long as they are a different colour and in descending order. The tableau is set up for you to create 7 columns. Think of these as additional cards you can bring into play. Aces go to the bottom.ĭeck: the face-down pile. Tableau: the 7 columns on the main table - we like to think of it as a home for the cards until you get them in the right order!įoundations: the 4 piles of the sequence you are building. Let’s get started with some Solitaire language. Using a keyboard? Use the key combination CTRL + Z to undo a move and CTRL + H to get a hint.Solitaire (also known as Klondike) is the most popular version of Solitaire played today. So, take your time to find the right move. Take your time: the speed with which you complete a game does not yield points. The waste stack serves for cards that are no longer useful. Try to keep the work stacks neatly arranged and use them to build parts of sequences. Managing columns: try to split columns into 2 different categories: work stacks and waste stacks. Use the undo button to go back and try another column. Empty columns: try to empty columns as quickly as possible and use them as temporary storage to see under cards that are face down, to check if they are useful. You can only do this if there is at least 1 card in each column. You must deal new cards when you can no longer move any cards. So, it is a good idea to arrange the cards by colour as much as possible when starting the game. However, complete sequences can only be cleared to the foundation if they belong to the same suit. For example, a Jack of Clubs can be placed on a Queen of Hearts. When playing with 2 or 4 suits, you can simply move cards to other cards that are one point higher in value, irrespective of the colour. This functions largely in the same way as playing with a single suit, except that you need to take the colours into account. Furthermore, it is important to know that you can place any random card in an empty column and that you go back one step using the undo button. Whenever you move a card that was face down, the previously hidden card will be turned up. For example if the 7, 6, and 5 of Spades are on top of each other, then you can move all three at the same time to an open 8. It is also possible to move several cards at once, if they are all in ascending order with a one point difference. The most important rule of the Spider Solitaire game is that you can only place a card on top of another card that is 1 point higher in value.įor example, you can only place the 2 of Spades on the 3 of Spades (see illustration). It is played with just one suit: Spades! In this game, you do not need to take account of the colours when moving the cards. Level 1 is played differently from the other two levels: 1 suit Our Spider Solitaire game has 3 levels: 1 colour (easy), 2 colours (more challenging), and 4 colours (extremely challenging, only for the real expert). Once you have completed a sequence, it will automatically be moved to the foundation and you can start on the next sequence and so on, until you have cleared the whole tableau. For this purpose, you must arrange all cards in the tableau in descending order in the same suit, from King to Ace. The aim of Spider Solitaire is to move all cards from the tableau to the foundation. The Foundation will ultimately contain all 104 cards, sorted by colour and in order from King to Ace, arranged in 8 stacks. Each column in the tableau gets a new card whenever you tap on this stock. The Stock contains the 50 cards that have not yet been dealt. Here, around half (54 cards) of the 104 cards in play are arranged in 10 columns. The Tableau is the section in which the game is played. To fully understand how to play Spider Solitaire, we will first take a look at the playing field. It is played by 1 person only and uses 2 decks of cards. Spider is a Solitaire game made popular by Microsoft Windows. |
